Location

Where we are and how to find us

We are situated in the village of Felindre, Powys which is between Knighton & Newtown in Mid Wales on the Border of Shropshire and Radnorshire.
The maps below show our national location as well an enlargement of our surrounding area and closest towns. However, we recommend you use the written directions below for a more detailed driving description.

We are ‘off the beaten track’ and public transport is limited. The best way to reach us is by car. However there are mainline train stations at both Knighton and Newtown. We are happy to arrange a taxi to meet you from the train if you are planning a walking or cycling break with us. There is also public coach service to Newtown.

Local Directions

If you are approaching from Knighton, turn up a sharp (*) left as you pass the speed limit sign on reaching the village, signed Brandy House Farm (opposite the village sign). Continue up the lane over the two cattle-grids (**) and we are at the top about 150 metres from the main road.

If you are approaching from Newtown, leave on the A483 (signed Llandrindod Wells) to Dolfor. Turn left onto the B4355. Go through the village of Felindre and as you leave it, turn up to your right just before the end of speed limit sign at the Brandy House Farm sign. Continue up the lane over the two cattle-grids and we are at the top about 150 metres from the main road.

* If you are travelling with a horse lorry from the Knighton direction you may find it easier to go past the turn, through the village and turn at the crossroads on the other side of the village, then approach as if from Newtown.

** You will find it easier to open the gates than to drive over the cattle grids if you have a big lorry.

If you are using a sat Nav or google maps and are approaching us from the North they will more than likely take you the shorter scenic route through tiny and steep lanes missing out Newtown. If you are towing a trailer or coming with a Lorry we would recommend that you go to Newtown and follow the directions above!!
